Fallen
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Fallen deeper than you ever have before, fight your way out of the mysterious labyrinth, and ascend to the surface once again.
This game is an entry for the "Vertical Jam (8 Bits to Infinity #42" game jam.
(Dev Note: Unfortunately, I cannot provide a WebGL version of Fallen, as Godot 4 doesn't support web builds for C# projects, at the moment.)
TW: Photosensitivity
This game frequently features pulsing colours in its default state, which may cause issues with some folks with photosensitive triggers.
There are two settings to disable this and stage effects that can be switched on, separately, at the start of the game.
(Note: Disabling stage effects will also stop its associated gimmick from taking place, which may affect the "difficulty" of certain level setups.)
How to Play / Tips
This game is divided into three stages, each containing four levels. Your goal is to banish the lost souls that appear on each floor.
Banishing all enemies will unlock the door, allowing you to progress further.
Make use of "grounding" if you find yourself stuck in the air. This ability has a cooldown, but it can be particularly useful in the first two stages.
The final level of each stage is known as a "trial floor", and will typically involve a more challenging-than-normal setup.
Healing items can be found scattered throughout the labyrinth. If you find yourself having trouble with a particular level, try "saving" some healing items until you actually need them.
Not all enemy types behave the same way! Try to recognise their patterns and use it to your advantage. This is especially noticable for the demibosses (large enemies).
Finally, jumping will make you invulnerable to damage for a short period of time. If you're having trouble dealing with some of the projectiles, just jump through them!
